Natural Birth Control Methods
Knaus Ogino Method:
The Knause Ogino Method is similar to the Standard Days method. The major difference is the way in which the change cycles are calculated. In order to establish the pre-ovulatory or infertile period, the number 19 is subtracted from the number of days in the shortest possible cycle the woman might have. The length of the post-ovulatory or infertile phase is determined by subtracting 10 from the length of the longest cycle the woman could have.
*The Rhythm Method has generally been replaced by the more effective Standard Days method. For the purpose of this article, after the introduction of the Standard Days, we will refer to the Rhythm method exclusively as the Standard Days method.
Withdrawal
We'll briefly discuss withdrawal as it is a form of natural birth control but it is not widely endorsed in the medical community for its propensity for failure.
The withdrawal method is the act of the man withdrawing his penis from the woman before he ejaculates. The biggest negative with this form of birth control is the risk of the man not withdrawing in time.
Often people argue that it's irrelevant if the man withdraws in time or not as it is possible to impregnate a woman with pre-ejaculate. Although this hasn't been concretely proven, recent studies suggest that there aren't viable sperm in pre-ejaculate.
