When it rains it pours.

Demetrius Soupolos and his ex-beauty queen wife realized their attempts at conception would continue to fail when Demetrius was informed by a doctor that he was sterile.

Rather than give up, they decided to bypass the traditional sperm donor process and ask their neighbor, Frank Maus, to have sex with Demetrius's wife Traute. Maus was reimbursed $2,500 for 72 attempts at conception over the course of six months. Maus was considered a good candidate for biological and social reasons in that he was similar in appearance to Demetrius Soupolos and was already married with his own kids. Maus's wife apparently agreed to the deal.

After six months without becoming pregnant, the couple became suspicious that something was wrong. A doctor visit revealed that Maus was also sterile and shortly thereafter Maus's wife revealed that 'his' children weren't actually his at all! The still-childless Soupolos family are now suing Maus seeking the return of the $2,500.
